A Loving Start for Your Baby

We offer a safe, nurturing environment where babies are comforted, understood, and encouraged to explore at their own pace. Our program focuses on responsive care and meaningful daily interactions to support your child's early development.

INFANT CARE AND EDUCATION

At Children's Day School, our infant teachers provide responsive, consistent, and developmentally attuned care that supports the foundational growth of our youngest learners. Guided by the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS), educators design individualized experiences that nurture each infant's cognitive, physical, social-emotional, and language development.  Infant schedules are tailored to each child's unique rhythms and routines, with families actively contributing feeding and sleep preferences to ensure continuity of care.  Teachers use the Connecticut Documentation & Observation for Teaching System (CT DOTS) to observe, document, and assess each child's development progress.  These observations inform intentional planning of experiences that promote emerging skills.

By combining trusted relationships with evidence-based practices, our infant program lays a secure foundation for lifelong learning and development.

What Your Baby’s Day Looks Like

Responsive Care

Our teachers respond attentively to each baby’s cues, ensuring they feel safe, heard, and deeply cared for at every moment.

Individualized Routines

Care is guided by each child’s unique needs and biological rhythms, rather than following a rigid, school-mandated schedule.

Movement and Exploration

Safe opportunities for tummy time, reaching, and sensory exploration that support your baby’s natural physical development.

Language and Connection

Through singing, reading, and constant conversation, our teachers build early language skills and deep emotional bonds.
